How to install the WebPKI extension (digital signature)

The WebPKI extension is required to perform digital signatures with an ICP-Brasil certificate on the platform. This article shows the complete installation procedure, step by step.

Before you begin

  • Have your digital certificate on hand;

  • Use the Microsoft Edge or Google Chrome browser (the extension is installed through the Microsoft Store).

1. Start the signing process

  • Open the document that needs to be signed;

  • Click "Enable my computer".

2. Download the WebPKI extension

  • On the page that opens, click "Download Web PKI from the Microsoft Store";

  • On the new page, click "Download" and then "Add extension".

3. Install the add-on

  1. After adding the extension, you will return to the previous page and the installation file will be downloaded; click to open the file;

  2. The add-on installation will begin:

    • Check the box to accept the terms;

    • Click "Install";

    • Wait for the process to finish;

    • Click "Finish".

4. Done — sign!

  • Once the process is finished, your computer will be enabled to perform the signature with the digital certificate.

Important:

  • If the certificate is installed only in the cloud, it will not work. It must also be installed in the browser extension;

  • It is not possible to perform the digital signature through the mobile application, it can only be done from a computer that has the extension installed;

  • If you are not automatically redirected to the signing page, restart the signing process; the extension will already be ready for use.
